Dial800 to share Great Ideas at 2017 ERA summit

Dial800 VP of Business Development Mike Mezzanotte plans to mingle with 700 or so other industry players at the ERA Great Ideas Summit scheduled this year for San Juan, Puerto Rico, Feb. 27 to March 1.

The 14-year-old conference attracts direct response marketing professionals from across the world, with 44 percent typically hailing from outside the U.S., 50 percent acting as the primary decision makers in their organizations and 42 percent at C-level or above. A press release says the event draws a bigger concentration of C-level marketers and suppliers than similar events of its size, advising that attendees “are cream of the crop, the top-tier professionals and the VIPs of the direct response industry.” About 25 exhibitors are expected this year.

Speakers had not been announced by early January, but last year’s summit featured one keynote and 10 other presentations relevant to DR marketing. A highlight was the keynote by STiKi Founder and CEO Robin Shapiro, who discussed cost-effective smartphone strategies, including interactive text messaging, geofencing, 2D bar code incorporation and digital coupon distribution. Photos of the 2016 summit are posted here.

The event is owned and produced by Washington, D.C.-based trade group the Electronic Retailing Association (ERA), which holds a similar but larger DR conference in Las Vegas each September called the D2C Convention. All proceeds of the two shows benefit the nonprofit ERA, the only trade association that operates internationally to represent leaders of the direct-to-consumer marketplace, including those involved in electronic retailing via radio, TV and the Internet.
